- Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures.
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring they are clean and stocked.
- Take patient histories, vital signs, and record medical information accurately.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and prepare specimens for testing.
- Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the provider.Administrative Duties:
- Manage patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Answer phone calls and address patient inquiries effectively.
- Process insurance claims and handle billing inquiries.
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment.
- Assist in the coordination of referrals to specialists.
- Provide compassionate care and support to patients and their families.
- Educate patients on procedures, medications, and follow-up care.
- Ensure a positive patient experience through excellent customer service.
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification from an accredited organization.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Fast-paced medical office environment.
- Occasional exposure to hazardous materials and infectious diseases.
- Standing for extended periods and assisting with patient mobility may be required.
