Provides assistance tostudents who need a driver's operating license with completion of state required paperwork for drivingpermit and works with contracted driving school operator(s) to schedule behind-the-wheel driving sessions.Essential Functions1. Provides classroom driver's education para-instruction that meets state-mandated requirements.2. Assists students with prior offenses in re-establishing their eligibility and securing a license priorto completion in accordance with State mandates and laws.3. Assists students in completing the paperwork necessary to apply for and obtain a state driver'spermit license.4. Schedule students ready for behind-the-wheel driving with the contracted driver schooloperator(s).5. Provides transportation or arranges for Center to provide transportation of the student to thestate Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to complete their behind-the-wheel driving test foroperating license issuance.6. Works with the Purchasing Agent/Buyer in Finance to ensure fees associated with permits anddriving classes are processed.7. Ensures that all student test results and progress are documented and recorded using theautomated Center Information System (CIS).8. Maintains up-to-date skills in field of specialty through available sources such as publications,formal study programs, and in-service training.9. Models, mentors, and monitors the positive normative culture of the center.10. Acts as a responsible custodian for assigned center property.11. Reports violations of unethical behavior.12. Suggests opportunities for continuous operational improvement and reduction of waste.13. Identifies and reports environmental health and safety concerns as they may occur in theirclassroom areas.14. Ensures drivers/staff are educated and updated on all transportation/driver-relevant information.15. Appropriate certifications and licenses in state of employment or equivalent
