- Partner closely with the SVP of Segment Data, Analytics, and AI to define and evolve the segment’s overarching data and analytics strategy, including the integration and scaling of artificial intelligence capabilities.
- Collaborate with business and technical leaders across Operating Units (OUs) to ensure a unified and consistent data strategy that aligns with enterprise objectives and the corporate Data & Analytics (DNA) team.
- Support the SVP in evaluating long-term strategic needs and providing consultative guidance to OU teams to drive measurable business value.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of right-sized data governance processes across the segment, ensuring alignment with both segment-specific and enterprise-wide standards.
- Assist the SVP in managing the segment’s data and analytics budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and alignment with strategic priorities.
- Deliver regular reporting and performance metrics to the EVP and segment leadership, providing transparency into program progress and impact.
- Partner with segment and OU leadership to ensure alignment and continuity across multiple data and analytics initiatives.
- Support the SVP in articulating project-specific vision and strategy, offering direction and decision-making support as needed.
- Ensure that key milestones, deliverables, and specifications are clearly defined, communicated, and met across all initiatives.
- Lead the execution of a comprehensive communication strategy to promote data and analytics initiatives across the segment.
- Provide both formal and informal change management leadership to drive adoption of data governance, advanced analytics, and AI solutions within OUs.
- Collaborate with corporate teams—including DNA, BTS (technology), and BAMTech (segment technology)—to advance the segment’s analytics strategy.
- Support the SVP in identifying and recommending AI and machine learning solutions that align with strategic goals and enhance operational efficiency.
- Evaluate and implement emerging technologies, methodologies, and tools to enhance segment data and analytics capabilities.
- Drive process improvements for efficiency, scalability, and reliability in data and analytics operations.
- Foster a culture of innovation, experimentation, and continuous learning.
- Assist the SVP in managing the segment’s data and analytics budget to ensure cost-effective delivery of solutions.
- Oversee the selection, engagement, and performance of external vendors, contractors, and technology partners as needed.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in business analytics, financial reporting, or data engineering.
- Demonstrates a strong intellectual curiosity and a relentless drive to solve complex business challenges using data, technology, and advanced analytics.
- Proven leadership and team management experience, with a track record of increasing responsibility in analytical or data-driven roles.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences.
- Deep expertise in data governance, data quality management, and compliance frameworks.
- Proficiency in data tools and platforms, including SQL (SSMS), SSRS, Tableau, Power BI, and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with experience applying Agile methodologies to manage multiple priorities and initiatives.
- Hands-on experience with predictive analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence technologies and methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to foster cross-functional collaboration and drive cultural change toward data-driven decision-making.
- Master’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, Actuarial Science, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- Experience in the commercial insurance industry, including exposure to workers compensation data and analytics.
