- Responsible for the overall results for a single shift of Sanitation and Environmental monitoring. Coordinate activities for the team to ensure delivery of all key performance metrics including those in EHS, Quality, Finance, Productivity and People.
- Lead to triage any event related to sanitation intervention (I.e., Leak).
- Assures compliance to all procedures and policies concerning all areas of quality, regulatory, safety and human resources for all reporting departments.
- Coaches, develops, and mentors employees in areas of responsibility. Responsible for recruitment, selection, development and retention of employees. Conducts performance reviews; develops growth plans; interprets, implements and supports employee-related policies, procedures and programs. Assigns projects/tasks to direct staff.
- Develops and administers a technically sound Environmental Monitoring program, updating as appropriate.
- Leads problem solving efforts related to microbial issues.
- Interfaces with Division and Corporate QA, Manufacturing, Engineering, R&D, Regulatory Affairs and Purchasing to ensure timely completion of project activities.
- Author work order as required for maintenance support and addressing sanitation related equipment needs.
- Manage budget accountability for Headcount, Overtime, and direct expenses for a shift and/or line. Track, trend and continuously improve budgetary performance for direct expenses, headcount, overtime (OT), Material Usage Variance (MUV) and Scrap and Cost Improvement Projects (CIP).
- Bachelor’s degree in business, science, food technology, engineering or 2+ years of experience in a regulated industry, with preference being for food, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, cosmetics, etc.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Previous project management experience
- Masters Degree in Food Science or Microbiology (preferred but not required)
- Two years experience in Microbiology testing methods and techniques plus two years Supervisory experience (preferred).
