Together, let's advance the world of minimally invasive care.Job DescriptionPrimary Function of PositionThe Principal Solutions Architect combines expertise in application development, data pipelines, AI/ML concepts, and product strategy to design and oversee the creation of innovative and intelligent digital solutions. The Principal Solutions Architect will be a critical member of the Digital organization working alongside software development, data engineering, AI/ML, and product management teams. The role reports to the Vice President of Digital Products and AI.Essential Job Duties
- Responsible for the overall technical direction of the digital applications across mobile, web, and integration with robotic platforms, ensuring it aligns with business goals and user needs.
- Responsible for strategic alignment across the organizations to establish standardization and clarity in product architecture.
- Designs the architecture of the digital applications, their software, and their AI/ML integrations, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
- Works with product managers, development managers, and other collaborators to know about business goals and translate them into concrete technical requirements for the digital solutions and AI/ML features.
- Designs and drives the implementation of new product functionalities, ensuring adherence to best software practices and architectural guidelines.
- Works closely with data engineers, software engineers, data scientists, designers, and product managers to ensure seamless integration and successful product delivery.
- Recommends and selects suitable platforms, tools, and frameworks for data pipelines, databases, and AI/ML model lifecycle management, including evaluation of new technologies.
- Implements robust security measures to protect user data and ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Guides the development team on best practices and architectural recommendations.
- Masters or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related technical area.
- 10+ years of relevant experience developing globally distributed digital applications, software, and technologies.
- Extensive experience in software design and architecture, with a focus on advanced mobile and web application development.
- Deep expertise of AI/ML, algorithms, frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch), and model deployment techniques.
- Familiarity with MLOps best practices and tools for model deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
- Proven experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and their AI/ML services.
- Familiarity with mobile platforms (iOS, Android) and their specific AI/ML capabilities (e.g., CoreML, ML Kit).
- Expertise of user experience (UX) design methods.
- Awareness of potential biases in AI models and commitment to building accountable and clear AI systems.
- Knowledge of data handling, preprocessing, and working with large datasets.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical collaborators and work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- Proven data-backed and problem-solving abilities to identify challenges and propose innovative solutions.
- Experience working on healthcare and/or life sciences applications.
- Experience helping large image/video datasets.
- Experience managing regionalized cloud architectures.
- Located in the Sunnyvale, CA office.
- Set schedule (minimum 3 days per week in office)
