- Implement lesson plans based on developmentally appropriate practices (DAP) and individualized instruction
- Lead circle time, group activities, learning centers, and classroom transitions
- Foster early academic skills including pre-literacy, numeracy, fine motor skills, and language development
- Utilize observation and assessment tools to track student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
- Create a structured, engaging, and nurturing environment aligned with Cognia standards
- Supervise and guide Co-Teachers, modeling effective teaching strategies and classroom routines
- Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and safety protocols
- Implement positive behavior guidance and social-emotional learning strategies
- Maintain open communication with families through daily updates, progress reports, and scheduled conferences
- Support and attend family engagement events, parent education sessions, and school celebrations
- Collaborate with school administrators and fellow teachers to ensure alignment with school goals and state licensing standards
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 1–2 years of classroom experience in a licensed preschool or early childhood center
- Proven ability to lead classroom activities and routines with confidence and consistency
- Strong knowledge of child development, learning domains, and early intervention best practices
- Effective communication skills with children, families, and co-workers
- A love for young children and a commitment to their growth and well-being
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field (required or in progress)
- Knowledge of state childcare licensing regulations and quality standards
- Background in inclusive education, sensory integration, or differentiated instruction is a plus
