Reports to: Recovery Manager or Director of Recovery ServicesFLSA Status: ExemptJob Status: Full timeLocation: VariousPOSITION PURPOSE:This mission centered position is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of a Saving Sight recovery facility. This includes training and people management duties.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:This position's duties may include any or all the following:· Supports the Hospital Development Recovery Manager with the coordination of eye tissue procured within the assigned territory.· Maintain complete and accurate records for all facility functions.· Maintain all necessary supplies for the facility using the iTransplant electronic supply management system.· Supervise recovery and transportation of ocular tissue procured within the assigned territory· Provide timely and effective verbal and written communication regarding facility issues.· Ensure facility equipment is in good working condition.· Oversee Recovery Technician training in the absence of a Lead Recovery Technician.· Ensures compliance with Saving Sight Operating Procedures, EBAA medical standards, and other state and federal guidelines.· Will be required to cover 2 on-call shifts per week. This may include day, night, weekend, and/or holiday hours in an on-call status occasionally going beyond shift times in order to complete tasks.· Work with Manager/Director to fill open positions at your assigned location.· Manage onboarding activities for new employees.· Collaborates with the Recovery Department Director/Manager in developing training materials and updates when necessary.· Maintain staffing levels at assigned location working with leadership to fill open positions.· Manage staff performance and quality recovery functions to include re-training when quality standards have not been met.· Manage employee growth using O3's and PIP's.EDUCATION:· High school diploma and an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities can be acquired· Continual training and certification necessary for maintaining skills of this positionQUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE:· A minimum of one (1) year of experience in medical, surgical, or funeral home background required.· Strong interpersonal, written, verbal, and phone communication skills required.· Strong organizational skills, problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.· Ability to work independently, with limited direction, and in a team environment.· Ability to work with distraction and to multi-task with frequent interruptions.· Working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, Microsoft Office, general database, and web-based applications.· Must maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record as determined by the organization.· Must have reliable transportation.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:· Ability to travel throughout service region as required.· Requires occasional out of town stays.· Driving for extended periods or long distances may be required.· Ability to cover shifts with short notice to ensure adequate staffing.· Frequent periods of intense concentration, attention to detail and accuracy.· Ability to handle mental and physical strain involved in use of printed materials and prolonged use of computer screens.· Ability to perform delicate manual procedures requiring high amounts of dexterity.· Long periods of sitting and/or standing may be required.· Ability to climb stairs.· Required to have a yearly flu vaccine· Ability to lift and move more than 50 pounds.ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDSAbility and knowledge to work in various work environments, for example; normal office environment, normal outdoor exposures, hospital settings (floor, operating room, morgue), funeral home, and medical examiner settingsNOTE: The preceding statements describe the nature and level of assignments normally given job incumbents.
