The Application Analyst is responsible for coordinating, supporting, and optimizing assigned computer applications across defined business or clinical areas. This role participates in project planning, system implementation, and ongoing support, serving as a vital liaison between Information Services (IS) and end-user departments. Be on their team.Key ResponsibilitiesApplication Support & CoordinationSupports one or more assigned applications/systems, ensuring effective operations and user satisfaction.Coordinates responsibilities and projects including troubleshooting, documentation, and communication with vendors and technical teams.Performs system testing, analyzes test results, and supports implementation of upgrades and enhancements.Assists with specification development and application design in collaboration with IS staff and end-users.Documents support activities according to departmental standards.User Engagement & CommunicationActs as a liaison between IS and Beacon departments to translate business needs into system solutions.Participates in business process redesign initiatives and recommends effective, efficient solutions.Provides guidance and training to end-users to support optimal use of new and existing systems.Communicates clearly and professionally through multiple channels (verbal, written, digital).Facilitates understanding of software functionalities and resolves end-user issues proactively.Analysis, Consulting & Quality AssuranceParticipates in research and analysis to support system recommendations.Applies process improvement techniques to enhance system performance and workflow efficiency.Troubleshoots system issues and develops action plans to prevent recurrence.Contributes to system quality assurance and security initiatives.Team Contribution & Professional DevelopmentCollaborates with IS staff to train peers and share technical knowledge.Accepts and adapts to organizational and departmental changes with professionalism.Prioritizes tasks effectively and meets deadlines in a multi-priority environment.Completes special projects and other job-related duties as assigned.Organizational ResponsibilitiesAttends and actively participates in team meetings and training sessions.Completes all mandatory and department-specific education, competencies, and health requirements on time.Adheres to infection control standards, safety procedures, and ergonomic practices.Maintains compliance with regulatory and organizational policies and standards.Remains available to work overtime and flexible schedules as needed.Commitment to The Beacon WayLeverage innovation everywhereCultivate human talentEmbrace performance improvementBuild greatness through accountabilityUse information to improve and advanceCommunicate clearly and continuouslyQualificationsEducation & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.Minimum two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in a relevant support area (clinical, business, or IT preferred).Experience with systems and tools commonly used by Beacon Health System is preferred.Knowledge & Skills:Proficiency in supporting and maintaining software and hardware systems.Ability to conduct systems analysis, create test plans, and interpret results.Understanding of clinical or business workflows relevant to supported systems.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with users and vendors.Well-organized with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.Working Conditions & Physical DemandsWork is performed in a typical office setting with frequent use of computers.Must be able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.May experience visual and mental fatigue due to extended screen time.Must have the physical ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods and occasionally lift objects up to 30 pounds.
