
Simulated Brigade Combat Team (BCT) Analyst (Fires)

- Works as a member of the Operations Center Branch with duties in the Battle Simulation Center (BSC) and Scenario Development Branch (SDB).
- Position reports directly to the Branch Chief, Ops Center.
- Responsible for supporting US Army Brigade Combat Team (BCT) rotational training exercises.
- Replicates the maneuver operations staff NCO (S3) of a simulated US Army BCT.
- Conducts close coordination with the simulated US Army BCT's, Plans and Exercise Maneuver Control (P/EMC) Chief (Z06), and Operations Planners (Z01/Z03) to synchronize and replicate the unit's tactical operations with 21 ABN Division or JTF-21 tactical operations.
- Develop simulated BCT scenario deliverables in-support-of (ISO) 21 ABN or JTF-21 battle rhythm events (Commander's Updates (CUB), Commander's Targeting Synchronization Brief (CTSB), Operation Sync (OPSYNC), Division Orders Brief, etc.).
- Work is performed in a high OPTEMPO environment receiving, collecting, and analyzing data via radio communications, pertaining to U.S. Army maneuver operations.
- Effectively input data and reports into assigned computer systems in a timely manner, ensuring that all data points are addressed and accurate.
- Receive and collect data and format same using MS PowerPoint and other multi-media applications to facilitate a learning objective.
- Communicate effectively over assigned radio using proper military communication procedures.
- Articulate military style writing when transcribing radio communications into written reports.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Direct artillery operations staff NCO experience at the US Army BN FSNCO/FSO or BN FDNCO/FDO or higher levels.
- Must be capable of planning, developing, articulating (written and verbal), and executing BCT combined arms/maneuver operations concepts.
- Proficiency in AFATDS, fire mission processing, and artillery safety procedures.
- Possess a working knowledge and demonstrate the ability to achieve proficiency with Command Post of the Future (CPOF) and Command Post Computing Environment (CPCE).
- Possess a working knowledge and demonstrate the ability to achieve proficiency with hand-held radio systems (Harris XL-200P (P25) or equivalent).
- Knowledge of artillery doctrine, targeting, and fire support coordination.
- Support the development and execution of fire support plans, targeting strategies, and movement operations.
- Develop and enforce digital TACSOPs to streamline fire mission processing and command transitions.
- Coordinates and manages target list development and prioritization to support mission objectives.
- Possess a working knowledge and demonstrate the ability to achieve proficiency with tactical Frequency Modulation (FM) radio systems (Single-Channel Ground and Airborne Radio System (SINCGARS) or equivalent).
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Power Point, Outlook, Excel, etc.).
- Must be able to maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure scenario consistency and fidelity.
- Must be able to effectively and independently research, develop, organize, and communicate diverse military operations concepts.
- Possess a good understanding of US Army Warning Order (WARNORD), Fragmentary Order (FRAGORD), and Operations Order (OPORD) content and composition.
- Must possess an understanding of commonly-used US military acronyms and terminology.
- Five (5) years Active Duty or Reserve experience commensurate with the position or 1 (1) year Operations Branch experience at the Joint Readiness Training Center.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
- Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be able to access Ft Johnson and other military facilities. (The base may require a Real ID. The Real ID Act of 2005 is an Act of Congress that modifies U.S. federal law pertaining to security, authentication, and issuance procedure standards for drivers' licenses and identity documents, as well as various immigration issues pertaining to terrorism. The federal Real ID Act places new rules on which forms of identification may be used to board flights within the United States (U.S.) and enter secure federal facilities, such as military bases, federal courthouses, and other federal facilities.)

- Must possess excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Former Battalion Fire Direction Noncommissioned Officer (13J) or, Brigade Fire Support Noncommissioned Officer (FSNCO)(13F).
- Understanding in Call for Fire, JFO, and Target Mensuration.
- Knowledge of integrating indirect fires, close air support, and non-lethal effects with maneuver elements during combat and training.
- Contributes to mission analysis, COA development, and detailed fire support planning throughout the Military Decision-Making Process.
- Experience in joint and coalition fire support operations.
- Recent operations experience as a deployed maneuver operations staff NCO (S3/G3/J3), US Army BCT or higher level JTF operating in the USINDOPACOM, USCENTCOM, or USAREUR-AF theater within the past 5 years.
- Previous CTC operations exercise design or CTC Observer Controller/Trainer (OC/T); Maneuver Brigade Operations Staff NCO (S3) experience.
- Prior Senior NCO that is digital master gunner certified or very proficient in using Army Mission Command Systems.
- Battle Staff Qualified.
- Must be capable of planning, coordinating, synchronizing, and executing BCT tactical operations ISO 21 ABN or higher level JTF combat operations.
- Proficient in MS Office programs and functional computer skills.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with employees and management team.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
- Ability to coordinate several activities at once, quickly analyzes and resolves specific problems, and copes with deadlines effectively.
- Active duty or Reserve experience in U.S. Army Combat Arms Military Occupational Specialty (MOS).
- Graduation from Officer Basic, Advance Course, Advance NCO Course, or Battle Staff Course preferred.
- Associate Degree or equivalent experience.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with employees and management team.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
- Ability to coordinate several activities at once, quickly analyzes and resolves specific problems, and copes with deadlines effectively.
- Proficient in MS Office programs and functional computer skills.
- Adapt to changes in the work environment and manage competing demands while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- This position will be subject to random drug screening.
- Regular schedule full time. Ability to work shift work with extended hours, up to 12 hours per shift. May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignment or project. Rotational training exercises are approximately 14 to 21 days in length.
- Must be able to travel unaccompanied to continental US and foreign locations.
- Travel, up to 10% of the time, may be required.
