The HME Technician carries out all responsibilities of production, sanitation, maintenance, process order closing, adherence to standard work, daily direction setting, daily management systems, and equipment ownership. The HME Technician works with other employees as a team for all areas of the plant, but HME Technician operates and maintains equipment in the HME area. The HME Technician will rotate through different functions of work in the process area on a regular and frequent basis. You will report to the production Team Lead. You will work on site at the Council Bluffs location.The HME Technician may perform the following activities:· Productiono weigh liquid and dry powder ingredients per requisitions and labels containers correctly with material and batch identification.o Prepare batches following production scheduling and SAP.o Checks and changes lot codes on all ingredients.o Maintains accurate documentation following plant standard work.o HMI interface and troubleshoot production issues through changing HMI values.o Train HME operator to ensure quality of product and plant quality procedures are followed.o Perform and complete area environments, verifies and react to cleanliness levels.o Adhere to all established sanitation SOP’s and proper documentation of sanitation effectiveness including weekly and master sanitation checklists and titration paperwork.o Perform all weekly PM’s as assigned with focus 1-2 week AND 2-4 week preventative maintenance.o Plan shutdown tasks and maintenance work duties.o Subject matter expert on all equipment; homogenizers, CIP equipment, liquefiers, gums tank, holding tank, floor scales, totes, metal detectors, hap-man auger, and hot water set.o perform substantial preventative maintenance and substantial equipment breakdown maintenance.o enter maintenance information in SAP (i.e. work orders, close out time, complete purchase request)o locate materials in SAP (i.e. LX02) and scan to and from locations.o consume materials to current process order (i.e. ZCO60)o Adhere to proper methods for locating, moving, consuming, and returning partial quantities per standard procedures in SAP.o close process orders, apply labor hours to process orders, and fix discrepancies in process orders (i.e. VL061, HUMO, MB51)o Facilitate DDS during each shift hand off.o Accountable for action items assign and prompt follow-up on tasks assigned.o Responsible for DMS as assigned, acts as subject matter expert on centerline, clean / inspect / lubricate, and safety work-streams. BDAR, PM, CM, and Defect Handling (as assigned).Skills Required:· Two-year technical degree (i.e. documented training in areas of power distribution, instrumentation, basic pneumatics, drives, servos, basic hydraulics, blueprint reading, and PLC control); OR technical training in the military; OR seven years documented work experience in skills noted above plus high school diploma or equivalent; OR completion of plant’s Technician-in-Training program.· Experience with personal computers, programs, and data entry.· Ability to communicate English as it relates to job tasks.· Plan, organize, and schedule work independently.· Comprehend and use technical vendor manuals and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).· Read and use instrumentation (temperature, pressure, etc.)· Knowledge of pneumatics/hydraulics, motors/drives/gearboxes/power transmission systems.· Use tools including, hand, and powered.· Resolve enhancements to work procedures or methods.· Forklift and pallet jack operation.Physical Demands:· You will work in a manufacturing environment.
