SummaryThe division of Neonatology (Newborn) in the department of Pediatrics is seeking a Senior Manager to support Neonatology's clinical research infrastructure. The Senior Manager plays a critical role in Divison's success regarding daily research operations, resource allocations to support clinical trials and other research initiatives, research data governance and regulatory compliance in partnership with Pediatric's affiliate partner Texas Children's Hospital.Job Duties
  • Manages daily research operations, including cost and effort allocations for research staff, finance management, and invoicing for clinical trials and private awards
  • Ensures reports related to outcomes data are submitted and regularly reviewed for validation and maintenance
  • Oversees the data and outcomes team by leading prioritization of clinical data requests and quality improvement initiatives (e.g., US News & World Report analysis, CDH, BPD, ECMO, HIE outcomes data)
  • Oversees administrative functions for basic science, including animal invoicing and purchasing, lab analysis invoice review, and annual space allocation and equipment review processes from TCH and BCM
  • Manages a team of 12 research staff, including clinical data nurse analysts, research coordinators, laboratory helpers, research associate, research assistant, staff scientist, and laboratory director
  • Oversees pre- and post-award related projects and provides regulatory support for all faculty members
  • Oversees the division’s feasibility review for potential clinical research trials and/or collaboratives
  • Monthly financial management and cost distribution analysis for all research-funded PIs and staff for Pedi-Newborn
  • Staff management for multiple teams (clinical research – 60%, basic science – 15%, data nurses – 25%)
  • Active participation with TCH leadership partner for budgetary and strategic planning needs
  • Works closely with the Division Chief and TCH affiliate partner to support programmatic growth within Neonatology's research infrastructure, specifically as it relates to national collaboratives, increased national presence with publications and funded awards, and collaborative partnerships with other Neonatal ICUs across the country in supporting best outcomes
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Five years of relevant experience.
