Position SummaryUnder indirect supervision, oversees the operational planning, establishment, execution, and evaluation of a multifaceted program/project typically consisting of a set of closely related subprograms or associated activities funded through local- and/or state-level contracts/grants. Oversees fiscal, operational, administrative, and human resources management of the program(s). Seeks and develops outside funding sources and maintains responsibility of the appropriate use of programmatic funds within the parameters of the contract(s)/grant(s), up to approximately $1 million per fiscal year. Serves as principal point of representation and liaison with external constituencies on the local and state level on operational matters, and provides day-to-day technical/professional guidance and leadership as appropriate to the area of expertise. The program/project is usually focused to a single purpose; may be scientific, research, education, and/or services oriented, and is usually funded through contract/grant provisions.Conditions of Employment
Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED; at least 6 years of experience 2 of which are management level experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred QualificationsPreferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years experience in grant writing, grant administration, grant management, grant cycles, response times, copy editing and partnership development
  • Experience and understanding of grants management in a university setting; sponsored projects and post-award
  • Experience the use of personal computers and related software applications - All MS Office Programs and Streamlyne
  • Collaborative and adept at working with diverse groups with competing priorities
