UPMC Health Plan is hiring a Systems Analyst, Intermediate to join the team! This is a Monday - Friday (daylight) position and will work remotely.The Systems Analyst, Intermediate will report to the Quality Assurance & Operational Integrity Technology Team and support the entire Insurance Services Division with the development, management, and analysis of innovative tools and solutions utilized across the organization. Join this trailblazing team, in a remote environment, tackling some of the largest challenges in the organization with a strategic, solutions-focused, transformation of processes through technological improvements and business intelligence insights.Preferences: Bachelor's Degree preferred. Several years of SQL experience (queries, management studio). Several years of data analytics experience. Experience levels in Power BI, Tableau, app development, and coding. Leadership experience is a plus, with aspirations to advance from this role into a team lead position. Project management experience (creating project plans, timelines, scheduling and leading meetings with stakeholders, driving the project and results independently, etc.) strongly desired in this role to compliment the technical skillsets. A drive to support peers/team members and lead/drive other projects across the team.Key Responsibilities:1. Responsible for SharePoint Sites/Lists, Power BI reports, Power Apps Applications, Power Automate Flows, MS Teams, and many other tools and applications - creation, functionality, maintenance, design, and training.2. Heavily focused on the coding development area of applications in the Power Platform including DAX and M languages in Power BI, Power fx language in Power Apps, as well as SQL/Oracle language and other new languages as necessary to assess and query the data sources required as part of each project.3. Extremely high-level of diligence and very detail focused on every assignment from small to large, particularly coding and data entry aspects of assignments.4. Learning new tools, applications, coding languages and applying them to projects with a quick turnaround using a strong background in syntax fundamentals and natural curiosity.5. Need to conduct both quick and at times extensive research in order to troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during the development of tools.6. Management and creation of current and new thorough internal/external user guides, project/process documentation, data dictionaries, coding glossaries, etc. to ensure sustainability and governance of all tools and processes.7. Thorough understanding of clients' performance expectations, department goals, and objectives; and aligns responsibilities accordingly.8. Keeps abreast of all pertinent guidelines, products, regulatory, compliance, policy, and procedures.9. Generate accurate and thorough basic to intermediate reports for effective trending and analysis.10. Ability to explain results of analysis/results/findings to a non-technical audience including internal and external stakeholders such as leadership and clients.11. Identify areas of concern that may compromise client satisfaction through data analysis, and propose solutions based on findings, expertise, and research.12. Serve as a liaison to clients and internal departments.13. Successfully manage assigned projects and initiatives.14. Serve as a positive extension of the leadership team.15. Provide quality and accurate outcomes that meet expected deadlines/turnaround times.16. Other responsibilities as needed to support the team and ISD overall.Other Responsibilities:Second and Third Level Support (Including Maintenance Activities) Independently triage and resolve level 1 and level 2 support issues. Escalate level 3 support issues accordingly.SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) Have an intermediate understanding of the application development life cycle. Ability to apply those principles to day-to-day workApplication Upgrades and ImplementationReview and validate functionality of application upgrades and implementations. Report back on any problems. Identify new functionality and/or hardware requirements as assigned. Ability to create test plans.Vendor Relationships - Interact with vendors (technical issues, project initiatives) under the direction of more experienced team members as necessary. Assist with issue escalation where applicable.End User Training- Create and review existing training documentation. Facilitate high-level user training sessions independently.Communication - Responsible for demonstrating appropriate, clear, concise, and effective written and oral communications in all interactions to build relationships and accomplish day to day work and projects.System Integration - Complete assigned tasks related to system integration.Validate testing. Ability to modify existing test plans.Project Management - Create and contributes to project tasks and milestones. Update all project management and time tracking tools accordingly. Ability to take full ownership of a project.Data Quality - Maintain data quality at all times.Report Writing/Analysis - Write, analyze and make modifications to reports either independently for basic requests or under the direction of more experienced team members for more complex requests.Process Improvement - Create and update processes. Ability to contribute to process improvement efforts.Documentation - Complete documentation/flow charting of system builds and maintain team's existing documentation independently. Responsible for validating current documentation. Extract and document customer/business requirements and needs for use by enterprise architecture and engineering teams (network, system, and software).Interactions with Others - Successfully completes projects, tasks, and initiatives by embracing a team-first approach. Works in collaboration with team and offers feedback, where appropriate, to complete individual and group efforts. Shows the ability to adjust and be flexible to change by adapting approach when necessary. Seeks feedback from senior team members for development and effectively incorporates feedback into work and behaviors.Typically has 2+ years' experience with modern technology and application support through education or practical experience.Highly driven and self-motivated to meet expectations.Ability to work independently and in a team-based environment.Demonstrates thorough understanding of information technology fundamental tools and concepts (SDLC) of one of the information technology professional disciplines and applies that understanding to make independent practical contributions to IT work within a UPMC department or function.Completes on-going training on-the-job, through courses, self-study, certifications and/or advanced degrees to maintain and enhance technical and business capabilities. Additionally, this position may be required to maintain standby status as part of a rotation within the team. This requires 24 hours per day, 7 days per week availability during the standby period.
