- Perform bank reconciliations
- Prepare and post required journal entries
- Review & reconcile all balance sheet accounts
- Prepare summary of significant events and budget variances
- Prepare supporting documentation for financial statements including balance sheet schedules and other reconciliations
- Work closely with independent auditors during annual financial statement audit with preparing schedules and invoices, providing explanations of supporting materials and procedures, and preparing any other necessary data.
- Posting of accounts to the General Ledger for:
- Accounts Receivable
- Cash Receipts
- Accounts Payable
- Cash Disbursements
- Payroll
- Maintain records of all financial documents with appropriate supporting material; update records as necessary.
- Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, schools, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
- Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
- Provide support such as schedules, data, information, etc. for the annual budget process.
- Develops and maintains budget-monitoring models and coordinates production of the formal monitoring report (i.e., dashboard reporting).
- Assists department(s) in preparing proposals, provides input for forecasts and budgets and supporting information; explains policies and procedures; and provide recommendations.
- Assists with special studies that require data compilation; analyzes and interprets information in oral and written presentations.
- Monitors and stays abreast of current and proposed legislation as it relates to the industry.
- Analyzes and performs research on current and past financial data performance and prepares reports and projections based on analysis. Identifies trends in financial performance and provide recommendations.
- Prepares and Conducts financial presentations to school governing boards.
- Works and interacts with staff and relates to individuals at all levels of the organization; relates to individuals at all levels. As unique situations present themselves, the incumbent must be sensitive to corporate needs, employee goodwill, and the public image.
- Demonstrates ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple priorities.
- Prepares and analyzes complex financial reports, including writing report sections, integrating content, and formatting business documents.

- Good knowledge of company and departmental policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates knowledge of federal, state, and local requirements for K-12 schools and charter school law.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or related field.
- 5+ years finance or other relevant accounting experience
- Computer Basics -- MS Windows (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); proficiency in accounting software.
