- Ensure effective and efficient coordination and operation of line crews.
- Ensure that jobs are completed, and power outages are restored within designated time frame.
- Monitor contract crews for daily job progress.
- Oversee application software to schedule jobs for crews.
- Effectively supervise live-line work and ensures the safety of all crews.
- Responds to emergency calls when acting as On-Call Supervisor.
- Manage Command Center during outages, as assigned.
- Direct proper construction, service, and maintenance of distribution system.
- Actively participate in training on the installation and operations of all new electrical equipment.
- Ensure all affected personnel are properly instructed regarding the direction of line feed location of reclosing and switching devices. Ensure changes are promptly reported to immediate supervisor.
- Promptly advise immediate supervisor of the need for new equipment and materials and for repairs.
- Research new developments and technology within the electrical utility industry.
- Embrace technological advancements within the industry and assist other employees in the training and acceptance of these advancements.
- Assist in the development and coordination with Fiber South as necessary.
- Ensure that all member inquiries are promptly, courteously, and professionally addressed.
- Ensure that all inquiries are handled to completion with fair and equitable treatment to all members.
- Minimize inquiries forwarded to higher management for final decision, approval, or response.
- Check time sheets and work orders daily for proper time charged and account numbers.
- Complete accident and damage reports, as required.
- Prepare meter and transformer records.
- Verify invoices, meal tickets, and damage reports daily.
- Check completed applications for proper member numbers daily.
- Submit budget requests annually.
- Abide by all legal, local, county, and state laws regarding line work.
- Handle all aspects of employment for subordinate staff, including hiring, promotion, training, and termination.
- Appropriately document actions in employment issues.
- Coach and direct learning through direct involvement and reinforcement.
- Analyze and manage daily workload and schedules of line crew employees.
- Monitor performance and conduct performance planning and review sessions.
- Ensure fair and consistent treatment of departmental employees.
