Since 1955, Lindsay Corporation has been dedicated to research and development, continuously evolving to meet the world's needs sustainably.Position DescriptionThe Director of Global Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) plays a pivotal role in fostering a culture of safety and environmental responsibility across our organization. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Global Operations, this position leads the development and implementation of global EH&S policies, programs, sustainability (ESG) initiatives aligned with our Operational Excellence goals.This position will provide both strategic and tactical EH&S leadership to the corporate office and global manufacturing plants. Relocation to the Omaha, NE Corporate office or Lindsay, NE manufacturing plant is required. If working from the corporate office in Omaha, frequent travel to the flagship Lindsay, NE manufacturing site will be required to provide EH&S leadership and support. Remote work is not available for this position.Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement global EH&S policies, programs, & training materials to cultivate a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
  • Enhance the Lindsay Safety System framework to empower teams in identifying, assessing, and controlling EH&S concerns.
  • Lead EH&S initiatives to standardize programs, procedures, and expectations across all global sites while ensuring compliance with legal requirements and best practices.
  • Collaborate with company leaders to set global EH&S goals and objectives, providing direction and mentorship to EH&S team members.
  • Utilize a risk-based approach to EH&S, offering tools, training, guidance, and support to navigate challenges effectively.
  • Oversee EH&S audits for global sites and act as a liaison between EH&S and other business partners and contractors/vendors.
  • Provide strategic EH&S support and analysis for new land or factory purchases/acquisitions.
  • Manage high-impact and complex projects, including strategic training programs and lead teams to achieve EH&S objectives.
  • Plan and strategize global EH&S initiatives, aligning them with regional and global objectives while coaching and managing teams.
  • Oversee and support global EH&S software / data management systems, ensuring your teams have the necessary resources and guidance.
  • Collaborate across business functions (Operations, HR, Legal, etc.) to ensure compliance for identified issues, violations, and business challenges.
  • Prepare and submit required environmental reports/permits for internal and external audiences, ensuring timely compliance.
  • Investigate regulatory findings, assess implications, and prepare relevant documents.
  • Identify local, state, and federal regulatory impacts on operations and manage the process of securing necessary environmental permits and approvals, providing guidance, support, and effective communication.
  • Collaborate and support Sustainability (ESG) projects/initiatives that reduces energy usage and carbon emissions that have a positive impact on the environment and ROI.
Routine Duties
  • Support implementation of the Lindsay Safety System (e.g. LOTO, IH, Machine Guarding, JSA, etc.).
  • Develop, track and monitor EH&S Training.
  • Investigate track, and report injuries.
  • Assist in site risk assessments.
  • Lead monthly global EH&S meeting/calls.
  • Track and trend safety analytics.
  • Maintain records (annual reports, permits, etc.).
  • Oversee Safety & Environmental program implementation.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial/Occupational Health, Engineering, Environmental Health and Safety, or a related field.
  • 15 years of experience in manufacturing, including EH&S program leadership and team management.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Environmental experience.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (25-40%).
  • Experience in building and developing a strong safety culture.
  • High level of personal integrity.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Certifications (i.e. CHMM, CSP, CIH, etc.).
  • EPA / Superfund site clean-up experience.
  • EH&S experience in a metal fabrication and/or heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Fluency in Spanish.
