Overall Job Function:The Controller will support the Chief Financial Officer and accounting team within the organization by maintaining the operations, processes, and controls related to the organization’s chart of accounts, general ledger, and financial statements. This will be done through various accounting projects and tasks, keeping financial records updated, preparing reports and reconciliations. They will also assist with other FCS administrative processes and functions to help maintain an effective office environment all while striving to meet the demands of the employees and customers in a professional and timely manner. This individual will support multiple divisions within the company including, but not limited to: Main Office, Agronomy, HTBC.Essential Job Functions:Assists Chief Financial Officer in consolidating and analyzing financial data and budgets, taking into account the company’s goals.Consult with management to provide alternative recommendations to improve financial performance.Supports other divisions with workloads when needs arise or in a busy season.Manages and assists with the processing of monthly and year end reports, reconciliations, and financial statements.Manages and assists with establishing control practices to ensure proper use and protection of company resources.Manages accounting of capital assets and budgets.Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit.Assists customers with relevant questions during increased business times.Maintains office and work area in a neat and professional manner.Maintains accurate records for all – electronic and paper.Assists in special projects when needed – other duties as assigned.Secondary Responsibilities:Financial and organizational task management.Strong interpersonal skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Solid knowledge base with company software and software support.Competencies:High level of customer service focus.Proficient in spreadsheets and databasesSupports a consistent professional image of the company.Observes safety policy and procedure as an absolute.Attitude of positivity and reacts calmly under pressure or stressful situations.Work ethic of the highest integrity.Commitment to dependability and willingness to work to meet goals and deadlines.Effectively solve problems of payables department.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration or related field experience.Prefer a minimum of 2 years’ experience in business / accounting experience.Work Requirements:This position is based in a fast-paced office setting. Equipment utilized will be a computer, phone, fax, copy machine and other standard office equipment. Typical office hours are Monday to Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Position will occasionally work outside; exposed to elements, loud noise, and agricultural equipment.While performing job functions the employee will be required to talk and hear most of the time. The employee will spend frequent intervals moving and sitting, while also needing to reach, bend, twist, crawl, crouch, stoop or kneel. The employee will need to be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally and 15 pounds frequently. The physicality of this job is low.Benefits:
