By combining traditional values with cutting-edge capabilities, we deliver construction projects that meet the strictest industry regulations, while constantly focusing on the human aspect and fostering long-standing client and employee relationships.General Summary:The Area Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager serves in a lead role and is responsible for promoting and ensuring area/site safety and has a comprehensive knowledge for the day-to-day safety field operations for their assigned EH&S Representatives, projects including planning, coordinating, and enforcing safety regulations and codes while serving as the company’s point of contact for owners, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies for all safety related matters. Works collaboratively with the Corporate EH&S Manager to define, manage and implement the corporate safety program.Education and Experience:
At least five years of construction safety experience, one year of which includes supervisory responsibilities.
Previous construction safety experience or commensurate knowledge in Code of Federal Regulations (CFR 1926) required
Current OSHA 500 Certification (Train the Trainer course) required
For semiconductor projects, previous safety experience or commensurate experience in General Industry CFR 1910 settings/environments, including clean room, strongly preferred
Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) or Certified Safety and Health Official (CSHO) preferred
Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Health or related field preferred
Some background in Industrial Hygiene highly desirable
JBH incumbent with demonstrated management skills having shown adaptability and progressive responsibility over the course of employment
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Ability to anticipate, recognize and correct safety-related hazards and targeted safety trends
Strong management, leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing
Ability to interpret and apply OSHA standards
Proficient in MS Office
Material procurement experience
Working knowledge of construction practices
Public speaking experience
Ability to work as a team member
Physical Requirements/Travel:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 35 pounds.
