The Opportunity:Join NAVSEA 03S as a DevOps Engineer supporting the Navy Maintenance and Modernization Enterprise Solution (NMMES), a mission-critical program that supports over 45,000 users executing naval ship and submarine maintenance operations worldwide.Responsibilities:Design, build, and maintain stable and efficient infrastructure to optimize service delivery across production, QA, and development environmentsMonitor, troubleshoot, maintain, and continuously improve building, packaging, and deployment processesImplement automated infrastructure capabilities including backups, security tools, and monitoringUtilize a consistent DevOps approach to improve all phases of the development processEnsure end-to-end quality across functions and environmentsManage deployment/configuration management tools like Jenkins, Maven, Puppet, or AnsibleUtilize version control tools like GIT, Bitbucket, SVN, or CVSSupport network infrastructure, database, cloud and data center operationsImplement security protocols and compliance measuresDevelop and maintain automation scripts using Python, Perl, Bash, PHP, Java, SQL, or C++Lead DevOps initiatives and mentor junior team membersCollaborate with development and operations teams to optimize workflowsSpecific labor category determined by years of experience + educational degrees as stated below:Level III - Bachelor degree and 5 years applicable experienceLevel IV - Bachelor degree and 7 years of applicable experienceLevel V - Bachelor degree and 10 years of applicable experienceQualifications:Required:Active Secret security clearance requiredBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fieldExperience in DevOps engineeringStrong knowledge of Linux and/or Windows operating systemsExperience with AWS and other cloud servicesProficiency in programming and scripting languagesUnderstanding of CI/CD pipelines and automationDesired:Experience with DoD/Navy programsSAFe certificationExperience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)Knowledge of infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation)Security and compliance expertiseExperience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)Understanding of microservices architectureDevSecOps experienceThis position is contingent on funding and may not be filled immediately.
