  • Supervises a staff of 3-12 employees, assigns and reviews work assignments on a daily, weekly, or longer basis.
  • Plans work schedules, approves or disapproves leave, determines performance objectives and rates performance.
  • Execute recreation events, programs and services to meet the recreational needs of a diverse patronage, including a variety of multi disciplinary events which involve a variety of activities.
  • Recommends items of supplies, materials, prizes, decorations, refreshments, and equipment needed for program functions.
RequirementsConditions of employment

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, Chapter 2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
  • This position requires additional background checks that are necessary to allow for the incumbent to supervise minor employees working in the facility.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Selected candidate must be at least 18 years of age.
Qualifications
  • Must have knowledge of wide range of recreation and sports activities, organization and structure of military units and installation sports program objectives, policies, methods and procedures to plan, organize, and coordinate activities, assist, guide and motivate military staff in carrying out their responsibilities.
  • Must have basic understanding of budget and supply functions in order to prepare input and justification of funding for supplies and equipment.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing (English).
  • Work experience or education directly related to the duties to be performed.
Highly Preferred: Candidates that possess highly preferred criteria and meet the minimum qualifications above will be referred to the hiring manager first. Criteria is verified within the application package.
  • Possess at least one (1) year of experience working in Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) that incudes the utilization of systems like RecTrac and FMWR financial reporting such as Daily Activity Reports (DARs).
  • Possess at least one (1) year experience providing oversight, planning and executing events for 50+ patrons to include concerts, comedy shows, holiday events, Soldier Family Readiness Group (SFRG) events, etc.
  • Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).

PCS Costs
  • Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials
  • This is a pay-banded position.
  • Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday).
  • Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600.
Incentives and Bonuses
  • Incentives may be paid, but are not guaranteed.
  • Up to 25% Recruitment incentive may be paid (service agreement required). Recruitment incentives are applicable to newly hired individuals and rehired individuals (i.e., one being reinstated or re-employed after a break in service of at least 1 year).
  • Up to 25% Relocation incentive may be paid (service agreement required). Relocation incentives are applicable to current NAF employees who have accepted a Regular Full-Time (RFT) in a different geographical location with no break in service.
Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
  • Eligible for 1.49% COLA (subject to change without notice).
