Technical Publications Systems Administrator in GAC SavannahUnique Skills:Perferred Microsoft Sharepoint, Power BI, Power Auomate experiencePreferred experience with web systems, setup and troubleshooting of Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM's)Experience with various media outputs of print (pdf) and digital (sgml, xml, html)Willingness to troubleshoot issues with content display and errors produced during the the production process is a must.Education and Experience RequirementsBachelor's Degree Computer Science, Information Technology, Business or related curriculum required or equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 2 years experience with software applications used for the electronic delivery of technical or corporate documents or related technical experience.Position Purpose:Under general supervision, responsible for administration of publications revisions, its contents, and business processes. Support the capability to produce and distribute technical publications in a team oriented work environment. This includes support for various applications in the Technical Publication environment. Responsible for troubleshooting software used to support the production and delivery of products produced by publications.Job DescriptionPrinciple Duties and Responsibilities:Essential Functions: * Consults with users to identify current operating procedures and to clarify program objectives. Working with team members, provides mid-level troubleshooting for issues relating to producing and delivering technical publications and the Computerized Maintenance Program (CMP) in the Technical Publication systems.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and modifies Technical Publication systems including encoding, testing, debugging and installing to support publications systems. .
  • Develops electronic documents for on-line viewing by internal users and external customers.
  • Works with internal/external customers on moderately complex electronic publications requirements, viewing applications and mid-level problem resolution. .
  • Provides input to management with ideas to provide moderate decreases in department costs or moderate improvements to increase department revenue. Writes detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required. to develop or modify computer programs. .
Additional Functions: * Coordinates with vendors to ensure support of production schedules. .
  • Provides cross-training to other team members as well as training to internal/external customers, as required. Writes manual for users to describe installation and operating procedures, as well as internal operating procedures. .
Perform other duties as assigned.Other Requirements: * Knowledge of PC and Windows environment and setup.
  • Experience with UNIX or Linux operating systems preferred.
  • General computer software troubleshooting concepts. Working with vendors and foreign companies to support technical publications deliveries.
