- Practices under protocol established for the NP/PA role consistent with organization policy and in accordance with requirement set forth by the Mississippi Board of Nursing.
- Conducts age-appropriate assessments of patients, including taking medical history and physical examination. Reviews medical record for follow up or ordering of diagnostic studies according to established protocols.
- Consults with supervising physician or other clinicians as dictated by patient need and assessment findings.
- Participates with physicians and other clinicians in the department to assure operational efficiency and effectiveness and to promote consistency and continuity of care.
- Establishes effective working relationships with members of the clinical team, patients, and families.
- Delegates appropriately and coordinates duties/activities of clinical team members.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Master of Science in Nursing or Master of Physician Assistant Studies
- Current license to practice Nursing in the state of MS.
- Current license to practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse in the state of MS.
- Current prescriptive authority in the State of MS.
- 3+ years' experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
- Experience in orthopedics, musculoskeletal specialty, or trauma is REQUIRED.
- Preferred - a focus in general orthopaedics or hand care.
- Ability to communicate effectively, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to build and maintain effective working relationships with employees throughout the organization. Must be able to demonstrate a strong sense of customer-focus.
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to work independently within interpretive guidelines, and perform effectively in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.
- Must be able to travel to all clinic locations, as needed
