The Entry-Level Production Technician - Metal Finishing (1st Shift) position can perform a variety of tasks and positions inclusive of racking/un-racking, sandblasting, buffing, washing, cleaning, wiring and masking of parts. End goal is to be trained as a silver plating specialist after being hired on permanent. Candidate must be reliable, self motivated and open to learning how to plate.Schedule: Monday - Friday, occasional Saturday for 4 hours in the morning if overtime desired
Hours: 5am - 1:30pm
Pay: $20 to start - lots of room for growth in pay rate and job within company
Temp to permanent hire opportunity Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate buffing machinery.
- Set up equipment by lifting, carrying, and setting up buffing and polishing wheel.
- Manual buffing and polishing customer products.
- Maintenance of the buffing equipment, such as cleaning and changing wheels.
- Unloads and organizes customer products out of boxes or plastic totes.
- Put products on or take off metal wire racks by hand.
- Inspects, cleans, and test products to ensure they are up to quality standards before/after plating process.
- Packs up completed products and prepares them for shipment by affixing exterior labels.
- Assemble metal racks.
- Wash parts in the parts washer machine.
- Wire and mask parts to be plated.
- Ensures that all production deadlines are met.
- Reports issues or problems with production to immediate supervisor.
- Makes sure that workstation is clean and free of trash or hazardous materials.
- Adheres to all safety guidelines and handling of materials.
- Demonstrates problem-solving skills necessary to troubleshoot production issues.
- Detailed oriented, coordinated, and well organized.
- Possesses physical dexterity necessary to assemble small and delicate product parts.
- Posses reading, writing, and basic math skills.
- Works efficiently and manages time effectively.
- Must possess Interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly, professionally, and effectively communicate with their supervisor and coworkers.
