  • We are seeking an experienced Event Supervisor to oversee and manage a crew during the Howard Street outdoor event at Moscone Center. This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and requires strong leadership, stamina, and organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage the crew distributing box lunches to street vendors.
  • Coordinate movement of supplies and food between the loading dock and event area.
  • Handle and manage large, heavy items, including Alhambra water.
  • Provide clear direction and leadership to ensure smooth event operations.
  • Stay on top of schedules and adapt quickly to changing needs.
  • Maintain energy and focus in a physically demanding, on-the-go role for 5 consecutive event days.
Requirements:
  • Supervisory experience required (managing crews/teams in event, hospitality, or similar settings).
  • Ability to lift and transport heavy items and navigate stairs throughout the day.
  • Quick decision-making and strong communication skills.
  • Highly organized and adaptable in a dynamic outdoor event environment.
  • Must be dependable, proactive, and able to keep pace with the demands of the event.

  • This position is physically demanding and requires a supervisor who thrives in fast-paced environments. Not for the faint of heart—energy, leadership, and flexibility are a must!
QUALIFICATIONSMinimum 2 years of experience in a food & beverage supervisory or managerial roleProficient in MS Word, MS Excel, and POS systems (MICROS is a plus)Strong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to interpret safety documents, SOPs, and proceduresSolid math skills (percentages, proportions, conversions, etc.)Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions and handle practical, real-time problem-solving***General Requirements***Qualified applications with arrest or conviction records will be considered for employment in accordance with the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers and the California Fair Chance Act.Event Staff/Food ServiceWhen working in Event Staff or Food Service Position through Bluecrew, you may be expected to do any and all of the following:
  • Working independently or in a team to cook, prepare, serve, or transport food items
  • Engaging with customers while operating a point of sale machine or cash register in a professional and courteous manner
  • Clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, cooking equipment, or other items at the start or end of your shift
  • Work on your feet, either stationary or constantly moving for the full shift
  • Reaching, crouching, bending over, and other physically strenuous activities at times, as required by the immediate supervisor
  • Comfortable working in a busy and at times hectic environment
  • There may be a specific dress code, but if it is not listed, please make sure to wear close-toed shoes and pants.
  • Note for that for any event staff position that requires handling food, you will need to follow GMP guidelines which include keeping your hair up, neatly trimmed fingernails, and you may be required to cover any facial hair.
