The Production Engineering Technician will assist Engineers in sustaining and continuous improvement activities for commercial products and support the manufacturing process development for new products. The Production Engineering Technician will ensure the engineering day to day sustaining activities are met in supporting operations. The position is within the CMP Polishing Pads Business reporting to the Production Engineering Tech Supervisor and primarily supporting a compressed shift work week.What You’ll Do:A. Factory Floor Process and Product Support (70%)Provide strong sustaining support to operations as 1st responders to product issues and disposition holds.Provide technical troubleshooting guidance to the operators and report occurrences to engineers.Assist in root cause investigations by locating the source of the issues and implementing corrections.Assist in visual inspection and disposition of product.Collaborate with the maintenance team in troubleshooting any equipment issues affecting product.Perform product dispositions through visual inspections and SPC analysis completing all necessary documentation.B. Continuous Improvement Activities (20%)Help drive productivity in the manufacturing process by identifying opportunities to improve safety, quality, product or raw material yield, efficiency, and/or cost and successfully implement the improvements.Design and build proof of concept parts/equipment for testing.Assist Process Engineering in development and execution of Design of Experiment trials, new product scale-ups, customer issue investigations, and equipment installations & qualifications.C. Training and Documentation (10%)Provide process and equipment training to operators in both formal and informal settings.Assist Engineering to document and update Work Instructions, Response Flow Checklists, preparing presentation, and other documents as needed.What We Seek:· Associate degree required with 5+ years of experience in operating/maintaining mechanical manufacturing equipment or combination of 5+ years of relevant education and related manufacturing/maintenance experience required.· Experience in plastics processing, machining, and/or roll lamination preferred.· Experience with equipment which uses computerized user interfaces preferred.· Experience with PLC programming and operation a plus.· Skilled in the use of common hand and power tools; experience with machine repair preferred.· Minitab and/or JMP experience and the ability to prepare and analyze statistical charts preferred.· Ability to interpret Statistical Process Control charts at a basic level required.· JMP, 6 Sigma, and LEAN knowledge preferred.· Intermediate Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and email skills required.Outstanding Candidates Will Have:· Strong troubleshooting skill to analyze and resolve issues in product dispositions, systems, and equipment.· Strong analytical skills to dissect problems, assess data, and make informed decisions is vital· Understanding quality control as it relates to product and processes and adhering to quality standards is essential.· Equipment maintenance/repair and basic understanding of motors, pneumatics, and production machines preferred.· Ability to read operation manuals, engineering specifications and diagrams.· Knowledge of safe work practices and ability to support safety improvement initiatives.· Planning and organization; collaboration and teamwork.· Effective oral and written communication skills.· Proficient English communication skills (verbal and written).· Flexibility in schedule to meet manufacturing/development needs including “on call” availability with up to 5% travel within the US.What We OfferAt Entegris, we invest in providing opportunity to our employees and promote from within.
