As a key member of our team, you will utilize your technical expertise and project management skills to oversee the design, development, and execution of engineered solutions for electrical, lighting, and low voltage systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead electrical engineering projects from inception to completion.
  • Apply electrical concepts and principles, demonstrating knowledge of the factors that affect each specific situation to accurately calculate power loads for buildings, using company software. Check loads and ensure accuracy and adequacy.
  • Design power distribution systems, including the main service, panel board feeder distribution, and branch circuits.
  • Design lighting systems, including selection of fixtures, preparing illumination calculations, and zoning, dimming, daylighting and occupancy-based lighting controls.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in fault current and voltage drop calculations, and design and document systems in compliance with appropriate standards.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of codes and standards and ensure that all work complies with all codes and regulations.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings in order to meet the project electrical needs and coordinate with other engineering disciplines.
  • Follow company standards or all design processes and maintain clear and accurate documentation of assumptions, client directions, calculations, and conclusions.
  • Size equipment based on loads and in accordance with industry and company standards.
  • Estimate energy consumption of different systems, using spreadsheets and other simplified methods.
  • Design fire alarm systems in compliance with prevailing code and company design standards.
  • Design telecommunications systems, including conduit sizing, tray sizing, routing, and detailed connections.
  • Design other low voltage systems, including audio/visual, security access, and security CCTV systems.
  • Ensure construction documents are accurate, clear, and coordinated.
  • Manage project scope, budget, and schedule, ensuring adherence to quality standards and client specifications.
  • Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and risk assessments to inform project planning and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including process engineers, mechanical engineers, and architects, to develop integrated engineering solutions.
  • Prepare engineering designs, calculations, specifications, and drawings using industry-standard software and methodologies.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project team members.
  • Interface with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to facilitate project approvals and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Coordinate with construction teams during the implementation phase, providing support and resolving technical issues as they arise.
  • Monitor project progress, track key performance indicators, and prepare regular progress reports for stakeholders.
Our essentials
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field; Master's degree a plus.
  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) license required in the State of Utah and/or other states.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on various industries.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing engineering projects from concept to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical or similar electrical design software.
  • Strong understanding of industry codes and standards.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
  • Experience with project management methodologies and tools, such as PMI/PMP. Certification is a plus.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a flexible mindset and ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites and client locations as needed.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Ability to work in both office and field environments, including construction sites, industrial facilities, and remote locations.
  • Must be able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and navigate uneven terrain.
  • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, noise, and potential hazards associated with construction and industrial activities.
