- Build 180 personal relationships with students who are not already involved in Jewish life by meeting them where they live, work and/or study, utilizing creative methods to reach and interest them.
- Manage and expand Towson Hillel's Birthright Israel program including recruitment, interviews, pre-trip orientations, and improving the trip experience.
- Develop relationships with Jewish students from different groups on campus (Greek life, majors, etc.) and non-affiliated Jewish students to help them register for upcoming Birthright Israel Trips and engage more deeply with Hillel.
- Transforming campus Jewish life, with the Taglit-Birthright Israel alumni as a core group through which others are engaged and brought into Jewish activities.
- Recruit for and facilitate the Kol Yisrael Fellowship, a 10-week deep dive into Israel, its history, politics, and relationship with world Jewry.
- Coordinate periodic Hillel-wide events, such as campus-based holiday meals and celebrations.
- Maintain records of events and attendance for measurement and ongoing evaluation, website, weekly emails, and social media.
- Support and oversee student-initiated programs related to Israel and Jewish Life; attend programs when appropriate as a member of the Hillel staff team (including evenings, weekends, Jewish holidays).
- Support student leaders in their Jewish growth through one-on-one meetings and group trainings to cultivate a caring and actively inclusive Jewish community.
- Coffee with a student interested in getting involved in an Israel travel experience, identifying their interests and following up with a connection to a student leader or further information.
- Spend time on campus with Hillel Interns, recruiting in public spaces.
- Meeting with colleagues to discuss Onward Israel and Birthright Israel recruitment and follow-up strategy.
- Dedicated time to note your interactions in the database and send follow-up or check-in emails to students.
- Supporting a student event in the evening where you meet two students who have not yet been on Birthright Israel and invite them to have coffee next week.
- Bachelor's degree (required)
- 0-3 years professional work experience (preferred)
- A focus on relationship building. You are constantly meeting new people, interested in learning about them and their passions.
- Prior travel experience in Israel and a familiarity with Israel and Judaism.
- The ability to work flexible hours needed to complete job requirements, including some nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Confidence initiating and running programs alone and as part of a team.
- Excellent follow-through on projects and the ability to multitask.
- Strong entrepreneurial spirit. Things may not always go according to plan, and you must be willing to take risks and learn your wins as well as your losses.
- Excitement to continue developing your own relationship to Israel and Judaism.

- Competitive salary in the nonprofit marketplace. The salary range for this role is $41,000 - $45,000
