Growing together.We are seeking a Lead Platform Architect to oversee the delivery of technical solutions utilizing a mix of SaaS, PaaS, and emerging technologies across federal government agency. The Technical Lead will act as the primary point of contact within the enterprise for complex technology solutions, coordinating across departments and organizations to ensure successful delivery of initiatives. This role involves interfacing with all levels of management to negotiate project priorities and outcomes, as well as regular engagement with peers, staff, customers, and vendors. The position offers the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S.You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:
  • Introduce and define the technical vision for solutions, establishing the solution/technical architecture that aligns with the overall strategy
  • Collaborate with Business Architects, Chief Product Owners, and other stakeholders to define High Level Solution Intent, target state architectures, and roadmaps
  • Create reference architectures and design patterns to ensure consistent and aligned implementation of architecture roadmaps
  • Drive the development and maintenance of detailed solution intent and product architecture across responsible Agile Release Trains (ARTs), addressing both functional and non-functional requirements
  • Plan and develop Architectural Runway to support new business features and capabilities
  • Explore solution alternatives and new technologies to address business needs, focusing on customer experience, operational efficiency, performance, and cost-effectiveness
  • Participate in deployment activities, ensuring successful implementation and addressing pre-deployment, deployment, and post-deployment considerations
  • Engage in the incident resolution process, assisting with troubleshooting, issue identification, and impact assessments
  • Build Reference Applications/Implementations for reusability and to accelerate the adoption of new architectural standards/patterns
  • Maintain Infrastructure, Security, Operations, Data, and Application Design pattern catalogs

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • Certified Architect in Salesforce, Microsoft Power Platform, Pega, Appian or any approved Ecosystem vendor platform (i.e. Certified Technical Architect (CTA) credential, a Certified Application Architect, or a Certified System Architect) or willing to become certified upon hire
  • 10+ years of experience in Solutions Architecture, Technical Leadership, and Business Application development
  • 5+ years of experience with large scale Low Code/No Code (LC/NC) platform deployments including some experience with a large government agency
  • Experience with government IT implementations
  • Direct and architectural experience with modern Cloud Native architectures, with a demonstrable record of leading architects through organizational transformations
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 15%
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance if required
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of relevant large-scale enterprise transformation experience in architecture
  • Salesforce platform experience
  • Deep knowledge of various enterprise-level platforms widely used in the industry
  • Technical and architectural leadership with knowledge of both legacy and modern cloud-based distributed systems
  • Solid background in platform management operations for multiple platform environment
  • Proven to be proactive, energetic self-starter with solid organizational and time management skills
  • Proven excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to business stakeholders

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
