Under the guidance of the Retail and Customer Service Supervisor this Customer and Sales Support Representative will work together with the outside sales/inside sales and other team members of the company to grow existing territory customers while increasing customer satisfaction. It will include daily customer service duties: inbound/outbound calls to territory customers, entering incoming client orders, assisting with store customers and other duties as required. This position will also support the Sales Development team as directed by the manager.RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES INCLUDE:
  • Assist Outside Sales Reps and Inside Sales Reps in driving sales for designated customers
  • Field all incoming calls and coordinate orders for shipping/delivery/pick-up
  • Daily retail environment transactions face-to-face with customers
  • Quickly and accurately input client transactions: orders, quotes, returns, credits, web, and mail orders
  • Assist Store customers - as directed by sales manager
  • Clerical Support
  • Process other division drop ship purchase orders
  • Set up new accounts
  • Process Catalog orders
  • Answer all email correspondence
  • Calling and billing of fees for territory customers and non-route customers
  • As requested by other sales staff, complete books and billings as required
  • Processing Returns/Credits
  • Year End Tax Report
  • Customer order guides and Herd Health programs
  • Return of Goods Customer Credits
  • Daily Deposit
  • Record all interactions with clients in Customer Relationship Management program
  • Promote monthly Sales blitz's and specials
  • Promote High Value niche products and Professional Service team
  • Be aware of account payment status and adhere to accounting guidelines including credit application criteria and payment terms.
  • Generate revenue through new and repeat sales utilizing programs, promotions, and/or leads
  • Offer clients information on products and solutions, up-sell, cross-sell, and educate each client with the goal of increasing sales and customer loyalty
  • Use cost and availability to recommend alternate products and provide accurate information regarding availability of in and out of stock items.
  • Monitor scheduled shipment dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite the shipment with a follow up call to customers when there is a delay.
  • Find the most cost-effective avenue for shipping.
  • Review backorder reports daily and release backorders on a timely basis.
  • Back up inside sales with incoming calls
  • Clean and assist with stocking shelves and cleaning shelves and displays.
  • Operate floor sweeper
  • Assist in other areas as directed by Manager
  • Pursue professional growth through continued education and company sponsored educational sessions
  • Contribute to building a quality work environment at Armor Animal Health by taking initiative, respecting others, and being a team player.

QUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Enthusiasm, initiative, reliability, creativity, leadership, teamwork, confidentiality, and an outgoing personality are important attributes for this individual.
  • 2-4-year degree or equivalent experience, agriculture or animal science background preferred but not required
  • Animal health knowledge with a background and interest in livestock production-based agriculture
  • Strong interpersonal skills that help improve the bottom line and profitability of the company
  • Demonstrated success in meeting sales goals and growing sales
  • Excellent telephone sales personality skills that project a warm, inviting, and trustworthy image
  • Ability to handle difficult customers with diplomacy and tact
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Proficient computer skills including MS office suite, experience with an customer/inventory database is a plus and/or other sales-based software such as Salesfoce
  • Ability to follow directions, prioritize work, make decisions, and manage multiple projects.
