Under supervision, the Direct Care Worker assists with personal hygiene, mobility, dressing, feeding, and maintaining a clean, safe environment to enhance each client's quality of life.Organizational RelationshipReports to the designated supervisor.Risk of Occupational Exposure to Bloodborne PathogensCategory B – Limited exposure.QualificationsCandidates must meet at least one of the following Pennsylvania state-approved training requirements:Pass a competency exam developed by the agency or a recognized entityComplete a training program developed by the agency that meets state requirementsBe trained through participation in a Medicaid Waiver or other publicly funded home/community-based programComplete a training program approved by the PA Department of HealthAdditional Requirements:2–4 years of experience working with seniors in home careReliable and verifiable professional referencesCurrent CPR certificationMust pass a criminal background check, TB test, and physicalGood hygiene and professional appearanceAbility to speak, read, and write in EnglishReliable transportation preferredKey ResponsibilitiesPersonal Services – Assists With:Bathing (tub, shower, or bed)Oral hygiene and groomingHair and nail careRoutine skin care and lotion massagePositioning and turning clients in bed or chairDressing, toileting, and feedingMobility assistance and walking supportMedication remindersHomemaking – Assists With:Meal planning and preparation (including modified diets)Feeding assistanceLinen changes (occupied and unoccupied)Laundry (client’s only)Light housekeeping (dishes, dusting, vacuuming in client areas)Listing supplies and grocery shoppingDCWs Are Required To:Follow universal precautions and infection control guidelinesMaintain strict confidentialityPerform only tasks listed in the individual client’s care planRecognize and respond to client needs, conditions, and emergenciesSubmit accurate daily activity logs weeklyFollow agency policies, attendance standards, and client rightsAttend annual in-service trainingParticipate in supervision and communicate openlyMaintain a professional and presentable appearanceFunctional AbilitiesAble to lift/carry bundles upstairs (up to 10 lbs)Able to stoop, bend, and travel to client residencesMust be able to hear and communicate clearly in EnglishBenefits:Competitive hourly payFlexible scheduling and live-in opportunities availableSupportive team environmentProfessional development and ongoing trainingFulfilling work that truly makes a differenceApply today to become part of the Familiar Roads Home Healthcare team serving the Morrisville community (19067)!How to ApplyIf you’re passionate about providing exceptional care and looking to join a team that values its employees and clients, we’d love to hear from you!
