
Controls Technician

- Start up, commission, and re-commission customer systems utilizing DDC technology.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mid-level system problems, offering solutions and assistance.
- Collaborate with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper system operation.
- Deliver turnkey projects on small assignments of 80 or fewer budgeted hours.
- Commission unitary systems, small AHUs, basic CW/HW systems, and Front End systems.
- Complete all required commissioning documentation and maintain accurate As-Built drawing packages.
- Submit paperwork on time, including time sheets, expense reports, work orders, on-site documentation, and project status reports.
- Oversee total system operation from controllers to sensors, software loading, and setting up trends, alarms, and reports.
- Calibrate systems using basic electronic test equipment such as multi-meters and network terminals.
- Perform mid-level static commissioning of software programming.
- Conduct site-specific training for owners/operators on the total system.
- Set up operator workstations with all associated software.
- Perform job database backups regularly.
- Assist with project turnover to the Service Department.
- Communicate with customers upon arrival and departure from work sites.
- Track and record personal job progress, keeping the Project Manager informed.
- Review customer systems and advise on areas for improvement.
- Maintain a daily log of job-related activities.
- Adhere to safety standards, ensuring a high regard for employee and subcontractor safety.
- Bachelor’s Degree in building HVAC with a focus on building automation controls.
- Field experience in the installation and operation of Automated Logic Controls.
- Understanding of third-party control systems and integrations.
- Experience with Automated Logic and Phoenix software, including WebCtrl, SiteBuilder, ViewBuilder, LogicBuilder, and more.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in building automation systems.
- Ability to manage multiple simultaneous challenges across various disciplines.
