SUMMARYThe Maintenance Engineer is responsible for preventive and repair maintenance on building equipment and performing grounds maintenance.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Conducts preventive maintenance as directed.Conducts repair maintenance within the limits of the law, i.e. electrical, plumbing, carpentry, etc.Maintains a safe environment at all times and picks up litter.Performs light safety maintenance on hospital vehicles, i.e. safety check, check oil, wash, fuel, etc.Performs security duties as needed to keep our patients and staff safe.Retains a first class low pressure boilers license and keeps the license current.Operates snow removal equipment.Picks up and delivers supplies and materials for other departments as needed.Participates in other meetings and committees as directed.Operates and maintains environmental equipment (boilers-chillers) and all related equipment.Assists in the development and training of lower grade departmental employees.Maintains a knowledge of and adheres to all departmental and organization policies and procedures and quality improvement practices.Demonstrates organization values in daily work.Supports the policies and procedures of the organization and the standards of the Joint Commission as required for full accreditation.The essential job functions listed above in no way state or imply that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position.
