We are seeking a new Special Construction (Threshold) Inspector-Civil/Buildings to join our team at Ardmore Roderick. As a Special Construction (Threshold) Inspector, you join a team of infrastructure solutions experts working to solve our client’s ever evolving project needs. This opportunity will be located at the Charleston International Airport in South Carolina and could have potential to be hybrid depending on the specific client, project and team needs.Key Responsibilities
- Structural inspections during construction, inspect critical structural components such as foundations, walls, beams, slabs, rebar, grout, welds at specific stages against approved plans and building code
- Adherence to inspection plans & documentation, follow an inspection plan issued by the engineer or architect of record, logging findings and maintaining detailed deficiency reports and inspection logs
- Issue findings and enforce corrections, identify deviations, halt work if necessary and require corrective actions before issuing a final statement
- Maintain communication among stakeholders, act as liaison among property owners, structural engineers, general contractors and the local building department, ensuring timely information flow and coordination
- Final reporting & certification, after all inspections, submit a signed and sealed compliance statement as required to receive a Certificate of Occupancy
- 3-5 years of relevant experience on large-scale projects
- Registered Engineer or Architect in South Carolina or Master of Special Inspector (MSI) or South Carolina EIT with one year of direct supervision under a SC PE
- Be current on or have the ability to obtain the following ICC Based Certifications
- Reinforced Concrete
- Prestressed Concrete
- Structural Mansory
- Structural Welding
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Have a team player mindset with the ability to communicate proficiently in written and verbal forms
- Have good to great organizational skills
- Airport project experience
- FAA airfield project experience
