In this role, you will own the enhancement of our management systems and support the effective implementation of sophisticated safety systems and processes across the organization. You will influence the behaviors of the site Health and Safety team, as well as site leaders and employees, to develop a strong and lasting culture of safety. As the leader of the Health and Safety team, you will drive both occupational and process safety performance by setting site-specific goals, guiding performance measurement and trend analysis, and being responsible for audit and assurance activities to ensure compliance with requirements.Interested in working in Superior?What you’ll do:
Lead HSE role at Superior facility. Responsible for quality of work execution of safety workflows such as MOC, HAZOP, LOPA, incident investigation, hygiene monitoring, injury classification, consent decree compliance, environmental reporting and management, etc.
Responsible for delivering on the yearly strategic goals and objectives that are led by or supported by the site health and safety team.
Provide functional coaching and steering to team members on technical topics such as occupational safety and health, process safety, emergency response, industrial hygiene, environmental compliance in addition to coaching on soft skills such as diplomacy, emotional intelligence, and presentation and influence techniques.
Influence/Persuade site leadership decision making and action to ensure safety culture is reinforced.
Define and oversee internal audit program (Line of Defense layers 1 and 2) over site conducted activities and management system practices. Serve as focal point for other corporately or externally conducted audits on H&S topics.
Serve as site steward for COIMS management system principle application (15 elements) and interpretation of other corporate requirements.
Who you are:
Legally authorized to work in the US
Minimum 16 years of work experience, including at least 5 years supervising or managing individuals and 10 years in the oil and gas or chemicals industry.
Post-secondary education or equivalent required, preferably a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental, or Safety subject area.
Working knowledge of regulatory requirements in oil and gas environment
