Description:CTG is seeking to fill a Network and Technology Support Services opening for our client in New City, NY.Location: New City, NYDuration: 12 monthsPosition Overview:The Network and Technology Support Specialist provides technical and non-technical support to the faculty, students, staff, and other end-users who have access to NYSID systems. The Network and Technology Support Specialist resolves technology related problems, monitors and installs software and hardware, manages general administrative issues, and provides a wide range of IT servicesJob Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support for the installation, operation and maintenance of desktop computers, applications, email system, phone systems, network infrastructure, printers, and internet connectivity for the institution
  • Provide guidance and training in the use of software applications (VPN, RDP, Zoom, Avaya, RSA, Printing, Accessing Jenzabar and EMS) and hardware tools to all end-users; provide user support in a timely fashion
  • Responsible for equipment storage and maintenance including basic repairs
  • Responsible for maintenance of network workstations and server hardware
  • Perform daily backup of systems; implement good data backup and security practices; escalate any necessary issues to maintain proper data security and operational effectiveness
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining virtual machines
  • Responsible for configuring, managing, and administering network infrastructure, backup, servers and databases.
  • Responsible for back up servers, which includes DNS, TFTP, file servers, print servers and virtual servers, etc...
  • Responsible for coordinating with software developers to identify and fix bugs and test update deployments
  • Responsible for creating and implementing Group Policy for institution
  • Responsible for creating and modifying user accounts, security groups, and distribution lists to protect school proprietary information
  • Responsible for the Avaya phone system which includes updating, configuring, and making changes based on institution needs
  • responsible for creating and overseeing computer master image
  • Developing documentation and procedures relating to computer configuration and delivery as part of the rollout process.
  • Responsible for inventory tracking, discarding expired consumables, and other aspects of technology support
  • Gather, prepare and submit purchase orders with packing and delivery slips for hardware, software, and supplies
  • Provide audio-video system user support
  • Monitor internet connectivity
QualificationsBachelor’s degree and one year of experience in system and administration required. Must have experience with Windows Server 2019, Virtual Machines, Active Directory and Microsoft 365, Database, Networking and TCP/IP. Microsoft and Cisco certifications preferred. Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented and ability to multi-task and manage priorities. Must possess good communication and customer service skills.
