Job Description :Role Overview:The Director, Human Resources is the hub of all things related to staff and the employment relationship at our client's association. The role is responsible for the employment lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to compensation and benefits, training and employeerelations, and staff engagement. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, with a dotted line to the Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel, this position consults with the executive team on policies and practices to ensure strategic and cultural alignment with the organization’s priorities.Key Areas of Responsibility:People
  • Collaborates with hiring managers on staffing, including facilitating recruitment and hiring processes, obtaining temporary services, and leading onboarding of new hires.
  • Lead and facilitate termination and offboarding processes.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to managers and employees (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Manages and resolves employee relations issues and conducts effective and objective investigations.
  • Collaborates broadly across the operations function to create a streamlined and positive employee experience that represents company culture, behaviors and values.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to problem solve and strengthen company administration and culture.
Practices
  • Lead and facilitate the annual performance review process.
  • Collaborate with the finance team and payroll vendor to coordinate and execute payroll.
  • Update and maintain critical employment and compliance documentation.
  • Design, manage and administer employment benefits, including annual renewals, open enrollment and rolling enrollment.
  • Develops, coordinates, and delivers annual training such as harassment prevention and supervisory training.
  • Develops and implements HR policy and provides guidance and interpretation.
  • Maintains working knowledge of legal requirements related to compliance, reducing legal risks and day-to-day management of employees.
RequirementsExperience & Education:
  • A minimum of a BA/BS degree is required. An HR certification or advanced degree is a plus.
  • 5-7 years of related work experience required.
  • A track record of demonstrated results in association or nonprofit HR.
  • Experience serving as an internal consultant on personnel matters desirable.
