OverviewEast Penn is currently seeking a Battery Service Technician to cover the Southeastern PA territory. Position can cover between Philadelphia, PA to Laurel, DE and into Sourthern New Jersey. The Service Technician will communicate and work with maintenance managers, maintenance mechanics, electric truck mechanics, electricians, contractors, and East Penn Manufacturing's salespeople.Responsibilities*Dealing with customer complaints and down equipment.Travels to customer locations.Evaluates battery and charging equipment.Must be able to make on-site repairs of batteries and chargers.Must be able to create and maintain documents explaining customer's fleet by type, amp hour, repairs, recommendations, billing, and repairs.*Maintains regular attendance.*Ability to work mandatory over time.Performs other duties as requested.Responsible for producing a high quality product.Responsible for proper hygiene, housekeeping, and safety practices.*These tasks are considered essential elements of the job.QualificationsEDUCATION REQUIREMENTS, Electrical background preferred; READING REQUIREMENTS, Basic Reading; MATHEMATICAL SKILLS, Basic Math (adding, subtracting, dividing, multiplying); COMPUTER SKILLS, Basic Computer Skills, Word, Personal Computer (PC); REASONING SKILLS, Ability to evaluate, Does troubleshooting and provides potential solutions for problems and communicate ideas, Ability to resolve discrepancies; MECHANICAL SKILLS, Hand Tools, Power Tools, Awareness of pneumatics, Basic reading of Schematics, Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot startings and stopages of machinery, Knowledge of Rigging and lifting, Oxy-Acetylene Torch, Basic understading of transformers and contactors, Minor Electrical skills, Basic knowledge of 240V three phase, Basic knowledge of 480V three phase, Basic understading of AC and DC electricity, Basic Electrical skills, Basic Electronic skills, Ability to identify and test basic electronic component such as diodes, capacitors, and resistors, Ability to remove and install printed circuit boards, Understanding the basic theory of rectification, Understanding the basic layout of a rectifier, Knowledge of hydraulic operation; COMMUNICATION SKILLS, Good Telephone Skills, Ability to communicate with Co-workers; OTHER NECESSARY SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS, Has a DOT Medical Qualification CardEast Penn BenefitsEast Penn offers excellent benefits:
