We are looking for a skilled Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our kitchen team. Assist our chef with preparing our delicious meals according to our smoked BBQ specialty menu. We are located in Old Town Scottsdale so we bring in the busy crowds searching for our smoked brisket and specialties.An excellent Line Cook/Prep Cook must be able to follow instructions in cooking and delivering well-prepared meals. They must be deft in moving around the kitchen and apt in multi-tasking. Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is also important.The goal is to help preserve and enhance our reputation so we continue to be the best BBQ place in Old Town Scottsdale.Responsibilities for Line Cook/Prep Cook:
  • Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment.
  • Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
  • Cook food in various utensils, grillers, smoker.
  • Check food while cooking to stir or turn.
  • Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served.
  • Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen.
  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.
  • Check quality of ingredients.
  • Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages Requirements.
  • Proven experience as line cook/Prep Cook.
  • Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bake ware.
  • Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
  • Ability to follow all sanitation procedures.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Very good communication skills.
  • Excellent physical condition and stamina.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time.Salary: $18.00 - $19.50 per hour.Restaurant type: Casual dining restaurant.Shift:
  • Day shift.
  • Night shift.
Weekly day range:
  • Monday to Friday.
  • Weekend availability.
Education: High school or equivalent (Preferred).Experience: Restaurant experience: 1 year (Required).License/Certification: Food Handler Certification (Required).Shift availability:
  • Night Shift (Preferred).
  • Day Shift (Preferred).
