
Area Vice President of Sales, Middle Market, UHC & UMR - Remote from Central or Eastern time zones

- Meet and build relationships with local, regional, and national brokers and consultants associated with employer group prospects
- Establish and maintain solid working partnerships with distribution channel partners. Consultant and broker relationships are a large component of this position
- Develop and prospect sales strategies specific to their needs
- Strategically collaborate with sales peers and functional teams within Optum Rx that directly or indirectly affect sales
- Effectively engage with executive and senior leadership
- Establish an understanding of the broader Optum enterprise
- Manage to ensure contract execution
- Lead analytical and proposal requests for prospects
- Facilitate finalist meetings including team coordination, strategy development and presentation development, as well as all follow-up communication post finalist meeting
- Follow up on prospect meetings and successfully negotiate with prospects and associated brokers and consultants within consulting partnerships
- Make presentations to employers, brokers, consultants and at industry functions to educate prospects on OptumRx pharmacy benefit solutions within the consulting market
- Manage pipeline and other sales metrics via Salesforce Go
- 5+ years of experience in PBM in the areas of: PBM Sales, PBM Client relationship management/Account Management and/or as a Broker / Consultant of PBM or H&B services
- 5+ years of experience preparing and presenting materials to clients
- 5+ years of experience working in partnership with underwriting and/or finance in PBM or healthcare, cultivating and negotiating RFP’s
- Advanced client facing presentation experience
- Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
- Reside in Central or Eastern time zones
- Driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
- Advanced understanding of PBM industry
- Experience in working for a health plan or third-party administrator
- PBM Consultant / Broker Background
- Experience using Salesforce Go
