MCFS Transporter/Visitation Specialist

- Must have a clean driving record.
- Must be able to flex schedule and may be required to work weekends on occasion.
- Must pass MIT criminal background check and drug screen.
- Completion of Washington State Department of Social and Health Services form to complete and pass a criminal background check clearance, which may include fingerprinting.
- Completion of a psychiatric evaluation and assessment test.
- Supervise and document interaction between child and parent during visitation.
- Ensures child’s safety during visitation.
- May assist with transporting parents, caregivers or children to scheduled appointments.
- Operates tribal and/or GSA vehicle. Assists with placement of children car seats and ensures children’s safety and adheres to all state and federal laws regarding transporting children in moving vehicles.
- Keeps daily schedule log and communicates with MCFS staff of availability.
- Is prompt to appointments. Allocates travel time appropriately.
- Familiar with local routes and service providers in King, Pierce and Thurston counties.
- Because of the Tribe’s commitment to community service and the well being of its members, each employee may be expected to perform a wide range of office and field duties from time to time. Such duties may or may not be related to their regular responsibilities.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must possess and maintain a valid Washington State Driver’s License.
- Six (6) months of experience working with families in a crisis situation
- Two (2) years’ experience working with Native American or diverse population
- Must have the ability to work in high stress environment and multitask on a daily basis.
- Ability to practice safe driving techniques in all driving conditions.
- Ability to make quick and sound decisions in case of emergency.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Office equipment operation including: phones, computers, copiers and faxes.
- CPR, BBP, First Aid (or obtain upon 6 months of hire).
- Knowledge of the culture and traditions of the Muckleshoot Tribe; or other Tribes with similar culture and traditions.
- Due to the sensitive nature of the family interaction; must have the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Meeting deadlines, being prompt and on time.
