Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support an intel program focused on supporting digital expansion. This position is eligible to sit out of the following locations: Annapolis Junction, MD, Fairfax, VA., El Segundo, CA. Tukwila, WA. This role requires TS/SCI clearance with a CI Polygraph or FSP.This job opens for applications on August 1, 2025. Applications for this job will be accepted for at least 30 days from the date of posting.Responsibilities of the Senior Systems Administrator include:
  • Design and implement secure systems following engineering best practices.
  • Deliver full-spectrum IT support in secure lab environments, from endpoints to servers.
  • Oversee system access, patching, and release planning for hardware and software.
  • Administer and maintain systems, including virtualized environments; automate tasks with scripting.
  • Ensure compliance with RMF/JSIG standards while supporting classified networks and infrastructure.
Qualifications for the Senior Systems Administrator include:
  • 9 years of experience in lab/test environments and classified network operations.
  • Skilled in OS installation, configuration, and troubleshooting across diverse platforms.
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as RMF and JSIG, and experience in secure system integration.
  • Extensive experience with enterprise operating systems, virtualization platforms (VMware) and directory services (Active Directory).
  • Hands-on expertise with IT hardware, networking gear, and high-performance computing systems.
  • Security+ certified or able to obtain within 6 months.
  • Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (MD customer); CI Poly within last 5 years.
Compensation for the Senior Systems Administrator include:
  • Salary Range: $150,000 - $175,000 **depending on experience**
