- Assist in maintaining existing computer infrastructure of 5000 PCs globally.
- Image/onboard new computers into the domain and onto the network, and decommission them.
- Secure and protect new and existing hardware.
- Consult with the business as they require assistance with their equipment.
- Troubleshoot and implement data flows for scientific instruments.
- Outstanding computer troubleshooting skills for obscure issues, ranging from device connectivity to laboratory software issues.
- Background with End-user Computing or Desktop Support skills essential.
- Break/Fix consists of 80% of a Lab Engineers workload.
- Understanding of hardware components and networking concepts, such as network topography, VLANs, static/dynamic IPs, subnetting, IT/OT networks, and basic understanding of firewalls.
- Familiarity with the OSI model and ability to troubleshoot different network layers.
- Knowledge and understanding of Active Directory required.
- D2D and/or project support.
- AGILE ways of working necessary.
- Background with computer security.
- Previous experience with validated systems (GxP) a plus.
- Implement the validated data backup solution on laboratory analytical equipment (equipment and software investigation, documentation, technical configuration) within R&D (GxP and non-GxP).
- Support for scientists in incident management, user support and coaching, and access management.
- Testing and validation of computer software (complete tests in different environments, writing technical documentation).
- Familiar with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow.
- Microsoft Excel skills a plus.
- In-depth knowledge in Microsoft OS including iOS and Linux a plus.
