Software Quality Assurance (QA) Tester

- Test Planning and Design: Develop, review, and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on product requirements and user stories.
- Test Execution: Perform manual and automated functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance tests to verify software quality.
- Defect Tracking: Identify, document, and track defects using Jira, collaborating closely with developers and project teams to ensure timely resolution.
- Release Support: Participate in sprint activities by testing new features and bug fixes, validating releases, and ensuring acceptance criteria are met.
- Test Automation: Help maintain and extend existing automated test suites and contribute to the design of new automation frameworks (as applicable).
- Collaboration: Work alongside developers, product managers, technical product managers, and business analysts to clarify requirements and proactively identify risks.
- Documentation: Prepare clear and concise documentation of testing processes, results, and procedures.
- Continuous Improvement: Recommend improvements to QA processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Compliance Testing: Assist with test activities related to SOC 2 compliance and other regulatory requirements.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in software testing, QA analysis, or a related field.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in writing and executing test cases and scripts.
- Experience with Jira for bug tracking and test management.
- Familiarity with manual testing methodologies; some exposure to automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress) is a plus.
- Understanding of software development life cycles and Agile methodologies.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and work collaboratively within a cross-functional team.
- Compliance Knowledge: Experience supporting testing for SOC 2 or similar compliance frameworks is preferred but not required.
