About UsNewHope Academy is operated by Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI). SESI Schools provide specialized education programming for K-12 students who require additional educational and positive behavioral supports to overcome challenges that impede success in a traditional school setting.The OpportunityThe Teacher will be responsible for providing academic, emotional, and physical services for students who require additional support to thrive in school. They will conduct frequent and appropriate assessments, use data to develop and implement instructional plans, and collaborate with both school personnel and families to drive outcomes. Every child deserves to reach their full potential and we're looking to hire an exceptional teacher who will play an essential role in fueling student success.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTeaching● Mentor group of students at the beginning of each school day● Impart knowledge of subject(s) to students providing an opportunity for the students to succeed academically according to NewHope's grading standards● Provide opportunities for the students to develop socially and emotionally● Provide students with a course outline for each class● Provide students with a daily agenda● Make student accommodations as identified in each student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP)● Update TeacherEase (on-line grading and recording system) weekly● Convey weekly grades to students● Complete weekly goal charting forms● Additional teaching duties and expectations are identified in the job description and any written policies for Employee's position and also may be assigned to Employee by Administration throughout the school year.Case Managing● Attend all IEP meetings of caseload students● Complete quarterly goals in a timely manner● Complete IEP for each student on caseload in a timely manner● Send Performance Updates to parents on scheduled dates● Additional Case Manager duties and expectations are identified in the job description and any written policies for Employee's position and also may be assigned to Employee by the Administration throughout the school year.Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning required
  • Valid teaching credential appropriate to the role
  • Commitment to learning and implementing feedback
  • Ability to adapt and remain flexible
