Average 30 hours per trip. Trips are Tu-Wed and Thu-Fri.Job Purpose: You are a focused and communicative team member who transports animals and items throughout the United States. You ensure consistent and quality service delivery.What you will be doing:Transport — Provide transport of animals and items. Prepare the route and vehicle for transport.Repair and Maintenance — Complete vehicle maintenance checks.Relationship Building — Maintain and enhance relationships with partner organizations.Support — Ensure appropriate loading, unloading, and care of animals and items. Plan and complete work based on the schedule and priorities set by the team.Communication — Listen, pay attention, and be a responsible steward of information.Culture — Foster an open and inclusive work environment by modeling AHS’s behaviors and values, consistent with the vision and mission of the organization. Champion a culture of safety and promote meaningful volunteer engagement.Other duties as assignedRequirementsWhat we are looking for:Experience — preferred.Schedule — Regular, predictable attendance, punctuality, and the expectation to work scheduled hours including up to 16 hour shifts with up to 13 straight hours of shared driving time and overnight shifts.Computer Skills — Proficient in Microsoft Office.Adaptability — Ability to work in a professional and positive manner with high attention to detail in a variety of situations.Communication — Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, must have ability to partner collaboratively with external and internal customers and departments.Physical & Emotional Capabilities — Must be able to handle the physical and emotional aspect of work in an animal transport and animal shelter environment, including the use of humane euthanasia. This position spends a majority of their time on the road and requires a high level of mobility and dexterity. Must be able to regularly lift and carry 50 lbs. and up to 100 lbs. as a team lift.
