- Drive the editorial vision and strategic direction for both digital and print platforms.
- Lead a team of journalists to produce high-quality, engaging, and impactful content across multiple platforms.
- Shape digital-first workflows while maintaining strong print standards.
- Collaborate with audience, product, and marketing teams to optimize reach and engagement.
- Use audience data and analytics to inform coverage and elevate reader experiences.
- Assign stories, guide editorial planning, and ensure journalistic excellence in every piece published.
- Edit and approve copy with an eye for accuracy, clarity, grammar, and tone.
- Oversee daily operations including layout, production, deadlines, and budget.
- Represent The Beaumont Enterprise as a visible community and industry leader.
- A passion for impactful, community-focused journalism.
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive newsroom experience, including newsroom leadership.
- Proven ability to lead teams, coach talent, and deliver results under deadline.
- Strong grasp of digital platforms, content management systems, and data tools.
- Mastery of AP Style, grammar, and editorial best practices.
- Excellent judgment and editorial instincts, with the ability to balance breaking news, enterprise, and audience interests.
- A collaborative spirit and the ability to work across departments.
- Skilled in time management, page layout, and multi-platform storytelling.
