Commercial Solar Design Specialist
Buffalo Solar is seeking a detail-oriented Commercial Solar Design Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for entering and analyzing customer billing data, creating accurate solar system designs in HelioScope, and developing compelling proposals that convert to contracts. Quality and accuracy are critical—your work directly impacts system sizing, financial modeling, and project success. If you are interested in a career in renewable energy, look no further. This is an in office position.Key Responsibilities:
  • Enter and analyze utility billing data to size systems and calculate energy offsets.
  • Create and finalize solar proposals using HelioScope and internal tools.
  • Ensure all designs, calculations, and financial models are precise.
  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, and project management to meet timelines.
  • Maintain organized records in ZOHO One.
Qualifications:
  • Experience with solar PV design; commercial solar preferred.
  • Proficiency in HelioScope or similar design software.
  • Strong understanding of electrical theory and PV system fundamentals.
  • Strong attention to detail in numbers, layouts, and documentation.
  • Knowledge of NEC, permitting processes, and industry best practices.
  • Highly organized, strong communicator, and team player.
Preferred:
  • Bachelor’s in Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.
  • NABCEP Certification
  • OSHA 10.
  • Familiarity with utility rate analysis and production modeling.
