- Ensures all LAN/WAN communications are fully functional and secure.
- Configure and install new and replacement hardware and software to maintain reliable LAN/WAN operations, this includes switches, routers, access points, and firewalls.
- Determine network specifications and design, implement, and plan software/hardware upgrades to the network infrastructure.
- Ensures all configuration files are properly archived and secured in a manner allowing for business continuation during disaster situations.
- Continually practices proper security procedures with respect to internet access, data access, anti-virus protection, user password protection, file system rights and permissions, and intrusion.
- Ensures the health and monitoring of all LAN/WAN systems.
- Respond to Intrusion Detection System and Host Intrusion Detection System alerts and take action when necessary.
- Ensures all systems and hardware are up to date with regard to OS patches and vendor updates.
- Works with other IT personnel and/or vendors in order to seek problem resolution and escalates to appropriate personnel when necessary.
- Evaluates, manages and implements vendor contracts and agreements to assure proper requirements and services are provided.
- Designs, evaluates and implements security protocols on the LAN/WAN environment
- Functions also as the Network Administrator.
- Ensures operability of voice and video system including upgrades, configuration and feature implementation.
- Ensures compliance with established information security policies, procedures and regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technology related field or equivalent.
- 5+ years of related working experience.
- CCNA/CCENT certifications preferred.
- Knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies is required
- Preference will be given to candidates with technological certifications.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Server Networks and Operating Systems
- Knowledge of Microsoft Desktop: Windows 10, Windows 11
- Knowledge of Virtualization and SAN
- Security training and/or experience including firewall configurations, proxy servers, Cisco Routers and switches, Wi-Fi, and any other network attached devices.
- Knowledge and experience in Wide Area Networking and Cisco Routing Protocols.
- Excellent troubleshooting, customer service, and communication skills are a must.
- Ability to occasionally travel to branch offices.
- Availability for occasional evening and weekend work.
