- Lead team to best-in-class levels of proficiency in SAP inventory management processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve the operation of the warehouse, logistics, and scheduling functions
- Ensure production scheduling is optimized with respect to customer supply and plant efficiency.
- Inventory management: Managing inventory levels at the local level, ensuring adequate stock levels, and minimizing inventory holding costs.
- Identify and act on cost reduction opportunities.
- Develop and execute continuous improvement strategies.
- Operate to optimize Perfect order performance with focus on improving On-Time, In-Full customer order fulfillment and reducing customer complaints through efficient warehouse and logistics operations
- Support the plant in providing high-quality products to customers through good material handling practices and following Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
- Operate warehouses in line with regulations and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
- Develop and encourage relationships between the department and support functions to drive business performance.
- Select, educate, and manage external suppliers/contractors/service partners to operate at Ingredion standards and level of expectation.
- Foster an amiable working environment through accountability and recognition.
- Organize labor resources to achieve optimal efficiency.
- Identify and leverage opportunities to streamline the workforce to drive synergies, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
- Coordinate with Human Resources to manage the hourly workforce in compliance with the collective bargaining agreement and in line with Plant Rules.
- Mentor and coach direct reports, both salary and hourly, to achieve their fullest potential
- Lead performance management activities across all operational units to ensure consistency of evaluation.
- Remain always connected to the shop floor and willing to make difficult situations visible to the organization to ensure they are properly addressed, and to ensure actions are put in place to avoid recurrence.
- Meet productivity targets while reducing waste in all its forms
- Drive down manufacturing expenses through the implementation of innovative cost-saving ideas
- Lead the implementation of the Ingredion Performance System (IPS) and use it to drive business results
- Use Root Cause Analysis (RCA) tools and relevant corrective actions to eliminate failures
- Utilize Six-Sigma tools to eliminate variance
- Drive continuous improvement in utilities, including energy consumption and waste disposal
- Identify best practices in the industry to bring innovative improvements to the department
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, engineering, business, or a related technical field
- 7-10 years of experience in manufacturing operations, logistics, or supply/production planning
- Experience in warehouse leadership is highly regarded
- Experience leading a Union workforce is highly regarded
- Food industry experience is highly regarded
- Six-Sigma green belt training and experience are highly regarded
- Strong leadership traits, with demonstrated success
- Excellent computer skills
