
Automation Technician

- Wiring termination of various devices in automation controllers.
- Installation of level, pressure, flow and communication devices.
- Field assembly/repair of various automation equipment.
- Quality Assurance and Troubleshooting
- Maintains working understanding of manufacturer guidelines for installation and maintenance of sensitive equipment.
- Reviews work of field personnel and vendors ensuring high quality and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Training
- Provides on-site training to supervisors and field personnel for new processes and technologies.
- Provides on-site and over-the-phone troubleshooting support to supervisors and field personnel on new processes and technologies.
- Provides feedback on work performance and knowledge level of field personnel to automation manager.
- Advises manager on required knowledge and observed knowledge gaps.
- Documentation
- Compiles data and generates reports.
- Provides feedback to management on process improvement.
- Additional responsibilities
- Driving trucks and other vehicles to transport equipment, personnel and perform job tasks.
- Attending and successfully completing training as directed for DOT, OSHA and safety.
- Basic data entry into computer systems.
- Attend meetings and training sessions.
- Daily travel to various locations, both in and out of state.
- Field collection of data and/or samples.
- Possesses honesty, integrity, and respect for the inviolability of reporting to clients and supervisors.
- Appreciates and cultivates a continuous commitment to safety for self and others.
- Is self-directed and able to work independently on a day-to-day basis while supporting initiatives, targets, and directions from Upper Management.
- General working knowledge of electronics and electrical equipment e.g. level, pressure, flow and communication devices.
- Technical writing.
- Able to read and write at a professional level in English.
- High interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and general business etiquette and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft excel.
- Aptitude for explaining complex concepts in an understandable and approachable manner for non-technical audiences.
- 3+ years relevant experience.
- Valid driver’s license with clean Motor Vehicle Record and can be approved to drive on company insurance.
- Extensive experience with SCADA equipment preferred.
- General oilfield experience, preferred.
